City Of Bones: The Mortal Instruments Book 1 By Cassandra Clare

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to
witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing - not even a smear of blood - to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demon
s. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know....

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

Blood Feud: The Drake Chronicles Book 2 by Alyxandra Harvey

The action and romance continue as the Drakes face a new vampire with a 200-year-old grudge. It’s been centuries since Isabeau St. Croix barely survived the French Revolution. Now she’s made her way back to the living and she must face the ultimate test by confronting the evil British lord who left her for dead the day she turned into a vampire. That’s if she can control her affection for Logan Drake, a vampire whose bite is as sweet as the revenge she seeks.

The clans are gathering for Helena’s royal coronation as the next vampire queen, and new alliances are beginning to form now that the old rifts of Lady Natasha’s reign have started to heal. But with a new common enemy, Leander Montmarte—a vicious leader who hopes to force Solange to marry him and usurp the power of the throne for himself—the clans must stand together to preserve the peace he threatens to destroy.

This second adventure in the Drake Chronicles—told from both Logan’s and Isabeau’s perspectives—has all the same butt-kicking action, heart-pounding romances and snarky humor that readers loved in Hearts at Stake, as well as exciting new revelations about the vampire dynasties to keep readers coming back for more.

Review: Evermore by Alyson Noel

Evermore: The Immortals by Alyson Noel

Blurb: Sometimes love is eternal. For good... for evil... FOREVER

Sixteen-year-old Ever Bloom is the sole survivor of a car accident that killed her family. Exiled to sunny California, Ever is haunted by her little sister and by the ability to see people's auras, hear their thoughts and know their entire life story by touching them. She wants to hide from the rest of the world, but when a stunningly handsome guy arrives at school, she can't seem to keep away. Falling in love with Damen is dangerous - he's not what he seems. But if Damen is her destiny, how can Ever walk away?

Summary: Well what can i say about this book except that it had me verging on tears a whole load of times.
Evermore is book 1 of 6 in the Immortals series. It follows Ever after she has lost everything, her family in a car accident, her friends after she has to move to stay with her aunt and her ability to be normal because now she can hear peoples thoughts see their auras and know someone's entire life story by a simple touch.
She knows she's never going to fit in again not like her old life where all she ever thought about was boys and make-up. Now she cowers under big baggie hoodies and an ipod to unsuccessfully try to block out the sound of peoples thoughts. But now since Damen's came to school she doesn't need that because he can quiet down everyone's thoughts around her with a simply touch of his hand on her.

She craves Damen and his touch so that she can block out everything everyone's thinking about her but she doesn't want to admit it, instead she pretends she doesn't like him. But when dark forces come back to kill her again, she has no option but to uncover the mystery surrounding him.

This book is fast paced and was hard to put down once i got started. I liked the supporting characters Riley, Miles and Haven. Although i don't know if Riley is good enough to have her own series which is what i heard is going to happen.
Overall i think it's one of those books you love or hate. Personally i love it but i guess your going to have to find out for yourself.

Character Of The Week

^Ellen Page^

Claire Danvers

Claire Danvers is a normal girl with a normal family. And is attending a normal university in a normal town....or so she thinks! Little does she know that she's just walked into the world of the Morganville Vampires.
Claire's self consciousness and timidness makes her an unusual female heroine. But her loyalty and ability to see the best in most people make her a real sweetie.

The Morganville Vampires Series is fresh, creative and mind blowing.
Richelle Meads ability to keep creating fresh story lines deserves an award.

The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong

The nail-biting climax to Kelley Armstong's bestselling Darkest Powers trilogy Chloe Saunders is fifteen and would love to be normal. Unfortunately, Chloe happens to be a genetically necromancer who can raise the dead without even trying. Her and her equally gifted (or should that be cursed?) friends are now running for their lives from the evil corporation that created them. As if that's not enough, Chloe is struggling with her feelings for Simon, a sweet-tempered sorcerer, and his brother Derek, a not so sweet-tempered werewolf. And she has a horrible feeling she's leaning towards the werewolf...Definitely not normal.

Shadowland by Alyson Noel

Ever and Damen have travelled through countless past lives - and fought off the world's darkest enemies - in search of each other. But just when their destiny seems finally within reach, a powerful curse falls upon them. A single touch of their hands, a soft brush of their lips will mean death for Damen - cast into the darkness of the Shadowland. But as she seeks to break the curse, Ever meets Jude - a green-eyed, golden surfer boy who understands magick, and understands Ever better than she realises. And she begins to ask a terrifying question: even if you're immortal, can true love really last forever?

Heard great things about it; looking forward to reading it!

My Love Lies Bleeding by Alyxandra Harvey

The Blakes are rather different to your usual neighbours. They are vampires and some of the members of the family date back to the twelfth century. One of the children, Solange, is the only born female vampire known and, as such, she poses a direct threat to the vampire queen. Her best friend Lucy is human, and when Solange is kidnapped Lucy and Solange's brother, Nicholas, set out to save her. Lucy soon discovers that she would like to be more than just friends with Nicholas. But how does one go about dating a vampire? Meanwhile, Solange finds an
unlikely ally in Kieran, a vampire slayer on the hunt for his father's killer.

I'm totally looking forward to this one, i hope it lives up to my expectations.

The Passage by Justin Cronin

“It happened fast. Thirty-two minutes for one world to die, another to be born.”

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

As civilization swiftly crumbles into a primal landscape of predators and prey, two people flee in search of sanctuary. FBI agent Brad Wolgast is a good man haunted by what he’s done in the line of duty. Six-year-old orphan Amy Harper Bellafonte is a refugee from the doomed scientific project that has triggered apocalypse. He is determined to protect her from the horror set loose by her captors. But for Amy, escaping the bloody fallout is only the beginning of a much longer odyssey—spanning miles and decades—towards the time and place where she must finish what should never have begun.

With
The Passage, award-winning author Justin Cronin has written both a relentlessly suspenseful adventure and an epic chronicle of human endurance in the face of unprecedented catastrophe and unimaginable danger. Its inventive storytelling, masterful prose, and depth of human insight mark it as a crucial and transcendent work of modern fiction

This is supposed to be a good book, i don't know if it's my type but i'll give it a go!
