Richelle Mead has exceeded herself with this new series of novels.

We delve into a world were vampires walk amongst humans. We meet Rose Hathaway just as she and Lissa are being caught by Dimitri after being on the run from St. Vladmir's Academy for 2 years. Now, back at the school Rose must do double the work if she is to catch up with her class mates and become Lissas gaurdian, so she has been assigned a guard to help her and be her mentor; bring in Dimitri. Rose could catch up with her class if she focused on it instead of her mentor.

Vampire Academy is the first book in the series. It has well developed characters and an ingenious plot.

Rose Hathaway is one of the best heroines ever! In the history of everness!!! She is a lot of fun to read about and her language and the way she says things are absolutely hilarious.
