Review: Evermore by Alyson Noel

Evermore: The Immortals by Alyson Noel

Blurb: Sometimes love is eternal. For good... for evil... FOREVER

Sixteen-year-old Ever Bloom is the sole survivor of a car accident that killed her family. Exiled to sunny California, Ever is haunted by her little sister and by the ability to see people's auras, hear their thoughts and know their entire life story by touching them. She wants to hide from the rest of the world, but when a stunningly handsome guy arrives at school, she can't seem to keep away. Falling in love with Damen is dangerous - he's not what he seems. But if Damen is her destiny, how can Ever walk away?

Summary: Well what can i say about this book except that it had me verging on tears a whole load of times.
Evermore is book 1 of 6 in the Immortals series. It follows Ever after she has lost everything, her family in a car accident, her friends after she has to move to stay with her aunt and her ability to be normal because now she can hear peoples thoughts see their auras and know someone's entire life story by a simple touch.
She knows she's never going to fit in again not like her old life where all she ever thought about was boys and make-up. Now she cowers under big baggie hoodies and an ipod to unsuccessfully try to block out the sound of peoples thoughts. But now since Damen's came to school she doesn't need that because he can quiet down everyone's thoughts around her with a simply touch of his hand on her.

She craves Damen and his touch so that she can block out everything everyone's thinking about her but she doesn't want to admit it, instead she pretends she doesn't like him. But when dark forces come back to kill her again, she has no option but to uncover the mystery surrounding him.

This book is fast paced and was hard to put down once i got started. I liked the supporting characters Riley, Miles and Haven. Although i don't know if Riley is good enough to have her own series which is what i heard is going to happen.
Overall i think it's one of those books you love or hate. Personally i love it but i guess your going to have to find out for yourself.

  1. I also just reviewed this book and I have Shadowland on hold at the library. I loved Riley's character, I am excited to read her series. I heard it is directed towards a slightly younger crowd though? I am not sure what I think about that.
